Rav Shimon Alster to Address Yeshiva of Cliffwood Brooklyn Reception Tonight

alsterNow in its fifth year, Yeshiva Gedolah of Cliffwood, under the headship of Rav Shimon Alster, has experienced phenomenal growth and has distinguished itself as a preeminent makom Torah. The yeshiva is located in Cliffwood, New Jersey, on a quiet cul-de-sac just one half-hour from Lakewood and forty-five minutes from Brooklyn. The yeshiva has established itself as a premier makom Torah where close to eighty talmidim toil in Torah from morning to night under the hadracha of the rosh yeshiva. There is also a kollel learning in the yeshiva, enabling the bochurim to benefit from the kesher they have with the yungeleit.

Rav Alster also serves as the morah d’asra of Bais Medrash Torah U’tefilla in Flatbush and was a maggid shiur for many years in Mesivta of Long Beach.

The annual Brooklyn event to benefit the yeshiva will take place today at the home of R’ Sholom Blatt, 1060 East 24th Street, in Flatbush. The co-hosts are R’ Lazer Duvid Itzkowitz, R’ Beinish Mandel and R’ Motti Zilberberg.

In past years, the event has been an uplifting experience due the participation of former talmidim of the rosh yeshiva, mispallelim of his shul, Bais Medrash Torah U’tefilla, and the broader Flatbush community. An elaborate buffet dinner will be served starting at 8 p.m.
