It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rav Shmuel Meir Gelber zt”l at the age of 92. Rav Gelber, a noted mohel, was a brother-in-law of Rav Shmuel Halevi Wosner zt”l.
Rav Gelber was born in the city of Pressburg to his parents, Rav and Mrs. Mordechai Gelber.
After the Holocaust, he emigrated to Eretz Yisroel, where he helped his brother-in-law, Rav Shmuel Halevi Wosner, with the establishment of Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin in Bnei Brak.
Rav Gelber served as the menahel of Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin for half a century and stood by his brother-in-law’s side throughout.
The levaya began this morning at 12 Rechov Ohr Hachaim, then passing Yeshiva Chahcmei Lublin and Rechov Harav Dessler en route to the Vizhnitzer Bais Hachaim for kevurah there.
