Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman was taken overnight for tests at Maayanei Hayeshuah Medical Center in Bnei Brak after feeling unwell.

In the afternoon, it was decided to transfer Rav Shteinman to the intensive care unit of the hospital.

The doctors at the hospital are conducting a battery of comprehensive tests, after which treatment will be decided upon.

A few months ago, immediately after Chanukah, Rav Shteinman was intermittently hospitalized and has had serious medical challenges since.

Two months ago, he was released to his home after undergoing complicated medical treatments. Since then, there had been significant improvement in his health, thought he remained weak and was maintaining a curtailed schedule.

Over Pesach, thousands of Yidden visited Rav Shteinman despite his weakened condition.

Yesterday, he met with the leaders of Lev L’Achim ahead of the organization’s annual asifa in Bnei Brak. Some hours later, during the night, he experienced difficulties breathing, along with other challenges, and paramedics examined him before he was transported to the hospital.

Dr. Motty Ravid, director of Maayanei Hayeshua, said that  Rav Shteinman’s condition is serious and doctors are conferring on what their next step should be.

All are asked to continue davening for Rav Aharon Yehuda Leib ben Gittel Faiga.
