Rav Shteinman Remains Critical But Stable, As Doctors Monitor Closely

The condition of Maran Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman at the Intensive Care Unit at Maayanei Hayeshuah Medical Center in Bnei Brak remained critical late Wednesday night, but boruch Hashem, treatment has brought some slight improvement, according to doctors at the hospital.

Thankfully, negative reports out of the hospital early Thursday morning proved to be false and the rosh yeshiva continues to remain under the close watch of Dr. Eliyahu Sorkin of Maayanei Hayeshuah and the team of doctors at the medical center.

Rav Shteinman has been suffering from a fever and lack of kidney function, for which the physicians and seeking a solution, but that there are no cardiac issues.

Dr. Moti Ravid of Maayanei Hayeshuah said that the doctors will be waiting on further treatment until there is some further improvement in his condition “There is no question that the improvement is thanks to the tefillos of Yidden around the world,” he said. “The next 24 hours are crucial, and we are hopefully that we’ll see additional positive signs going forward.”

Rav Chaim Kanievsky, Rav Gershon Edelstein and others have instructed yeshivas and other mekomos haTorah to pause during their sedorim today to say Tehillim for Rav Shteinman.

All are asked to continue davening for Rav Aharon Yehuda Leib ben Gittel Faiga.
