Thursday afternoon, the news out of the Intensive Care Unit at Maayanei Hayeshuah Medical Center in Bnei Brak is that some improvement has been seen in the condition of Maran Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman.

Rav Shteinman is on the fourth floor of the hospital, where he is being closely monitored a team of physicians, led by Dr. Eliyahu Sorkin.

The doctors stress that Rav Shteinman is still in serious condition and in need of Klal Yisroel’s tefillos, but that they are relieved that he is stable. They are hoping that they will see some continued improvement over the next day and into Shabbos.

As previously reported, Rav Shteinman’s condition had deteriorated significantly yesterday, prompting emergency tefillos in yeshivos and shuls across the globe.

While that crisis has passed and treatment has been somewhat effective, Rav Shteinman is still experiencing various challenges, including compromised kidney function, an issue the physicians are still grappling with.

Rav Chaim Kanievsky, Rav Gershon Edelstein and others have instructed yeshivos and other mekomos haTorah to pause during their sedorim today to say Tehillim for Rav Shteinman.

All are asked to continue davening for Rav Aharon Yehuda Leib ben Gittel Faiga.

The following is a video update from Kobi Rosenstein at the hospital:
