Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman’s condition as he is hospitalized at Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center in Bnei Brak hasn’t changed, despite rumors that it has worsened, says Dr. Motty Ravid, director of the hospital.

Dr. Ravid said that Rav Shteinman “was hospitalized due to high fever,” describing his current condition as “stable.” The 103-year-old rosh yeshiva has undergone a battery of tests as doctors determine a course of treatment.

“The rosh yeshiva was not anesthetized and is not on a respirator, and he is fully conscious,” the doctor stressed. “There is no change in his situation, and no deterioration.”

However, stressed the doctor, “in light of the age of the great rosh yeshiva, we do not know what the future holds.”

Last month, Rav Steinman was released from the hospital after a hospitalization due to pneumonia.

Health Minister MK Yaakov Litzman visited the hospital today to be updated on Rav Shteinman’s condition.

Rav Shteinman is being treated at the intensive care unit of the medical center.

As reported earlier on Matzav, on Shabbos afternoon, Rav Shteinman davened Mincha with a minyan at his home, receiving shlishi. A bit later, he was suffering from breathing difficulties and was taken to hospital.

A member of Rav Shteinman’s household was quoted as saying that despite reports that Rav Shteinman “complained about difficulty breathing,” Rav Shteinman did not complain at all. Rather, those with him noticed the difficulty he was experiencing and had his doctor, Dr. Avrohom Weinberger, summoned.

All are asked to daven for Rav Aharon Yehudah Leib ben Gittel Faiga.
