Rav Svei and Rav Mishkovsky to Address Gaon Yaakov Reception

rav-yudi-sveiThis morning, a breakfast reception will be held in Flatbush to benefit Yeshivas Gaon Yaakov, which is led by one of the senior gedolei hador, Maran Harav Aharon Leib Shteinman. The gathering will take place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eliezer Goldwasser, 964 East 23rd Street. Two special guest speakers will address the gathering. Rav Svei is a son of Harav Elya Svei zt”l, Philadelphia rosh yeshiva, and a son-in-law of Harav Leib Bakst zt”l, Detroit rosh yeshiva. The other special guest is Harav Chizkiyahu Mishkovsky, mashgiach of Yeshivas Gaon Yaakov and a renowned talmid chochom and emissary of the gedolim in Eretz Yisroel, who will share divrei chizuk v’hisorerus.

  1. mechutzofim what you are! rav svei as the yoresh of his father is the rosh yeshiva of the yeshiva, how dare you refer to him as a plain old R”M/

  2. ELI, calm down. Rav Shmuel Kamenetsky shlit”a is rosh yeshiva. He was rosh yeshiva with Rav Elya who unfortunately passed away. As long as Rav Shmuel is rosh yeshiva, no one else is. Of course Rav Shmuel is too big of a tzaddik to ever say anything, but that is the way it should be.
The next roshei yeshiva are Rav Yudi and Rav Shalom Kamenetzky, both big talmidei chachomim who will undoubtedly lead the yeshiva to continued hatzlacha. But we are zoche to have Maran Hagaon Rav Shmuel leading the yeshiva and Klal Yisroel at this point, so he is the sole rosh yeshiva right now. I don’t think anyone has to go crazy that Rav Yudi was referred to as R”M.

  3. Eli your hatred is SO apparent.

This was supposed to be a party to glorify Rav Shteinman’s yeshiva, not for YOU to push YOUR agenda and bring down the yeshiva.

Calm down, and push aside the negius here.

  4. As a neighbor, I attended the parlor meeting this morning. Rav Svei was repeatedly addressed as Rosh Yeshiva, by both the host and Rav Mishkovsky. Though I don’t think the posters of this article meant any disrespect by using the title R”M.
