A crowd of talmidim and others welcomed the rosh yeshiva at his Kensington, Brooklyn, home with singing and dancing.

Rav Belsky most recently underwent intensive rehabilitation after being released from the hospital. He will continue to maintain a limited schedule until he fully regains his strength.

The noted posek and manhig is still weak but has experienced vast improvement over the last month and is recuperating boruch Hashem.

All are asked to continue davening for Rav Chaim Yisroel ben Chana Tzirel that he have a complete refuah and have the koach to continue carrying his myriad responsibilities on behalf of Klal Yisroel.

  2. Great news. B’h! Thank you matzav for posting good news for a change. It seems that unfortunately we only hear when gedolim are sick and need our tefillos. May we continue to hear good news.

  3. Jade-Yes, Rav Yisroel is the son of Reb Berel Belsky, whose wife/Rav Yisroel’s mother was Chana Tzirel Wilhelm-Belsky. I’m pretty sure her father was Rav Wilhelm who started Torah Voda’as.

  4. To Jade –
Yes Reb Yisroel is a son of Reb Berel AH and a grandson of Reb Binyomin and a second cousin of my mother.
Are you also my cousin somehow?

  5. Hashem’s has answered our prayers, may we be zocheh to the Rav’s continued strengthening and return to normal function so that we as a community can continue to be enlightened and strengthened in our d’vekus Hashem. BARUCH HASHEM.
