rav-yisroel-hagerLast week’s important meeting of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Degel HaTorah held at the home of Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman in Bnei Brak is having ripple effects, as the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Agudas Yisroel has been holding consultation meetings of its own to formulate its future.

As reported here on Matzav.com, last week’s Degel Hatorah meeting addressed issues of the day and also formally marked the introduction to the Moetzes of its new members: Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch, Rav Yitzchok Silberstein, Rav Aryeh Finkel, Rav Boruch Mordechai Ezrachi, Rav Berel Povarsky, Rav Dov Yoffe, Rav Yehudah Adas, Rav Dovid Cohen, and Rav Moshe Yehuda Schlesinger.

These new members join the present Degel Moetzes members: Rav Shteinman, Rav Meir Tzvi Bergman, Rav Gershon Edelstein, Rav Nissim Karelitz, Rav Shmuel Auerbach and Rav Yitzchok Scheiner.

The members of the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah of Agudas Yisroel are the admorim of Ger, Belz, Boyan, Sanz, Slonim, Seret-Vizhnitz, Erlau, Nadvorma, Sadiger, Alexander and Modzitz.

Sources say that the Vizhnitzer Rebbe, Rav Yisroel Hager, will be selected to fill the seat on the Agudah Moetzes formally occupied by his father, the Vizhnitzer Rebbe, the Yeshuas Moshe zt”l, who was niftar earlier this year.

The Yeshuas Moshe served as the nosi of the Moetzes of Agudas Yisroel, and it is expected that the Moetzes members will appoint Rav Yisroel Hager to serve as nosi as well.
