yitzchok-landau-chevronIt is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rav Yitzchok Landau zt”l, R”M in Yeshivas Chevron in Yerushalayim, at the age of 59.

In recent years, as Rav Landau, who was most recently at Tel Hashomer Hospital, battled a difficult illness, a name, Chizkiyah, was added and hundreds davened for his recovery. This afternoon, Rav Landau’s neshamah was taken by its Creator.

Rav Yitzchok was born in Yerushalayim, a son of Rav Kalman Landau shlit”a, R”M in Yeshiva Kochav M’Yaakov-Tchebin, and Mrs. Esther Landau, née Trager.

Rav Yitzchok, in his youth, studied at the Chevron Yeshiva in Yerushalayim, where he became well-recognized as a masmid and budding talmid chochom.

He married his wife, a daughter of Rav Avraham Reisner of Bnei Brak, and the young couple settled in Bnei Brak. Rav Yitzchok first served as a R”M in Yeshivas Chevron Geulah and later at Yeshivas Chevron in Givat Mordechai.

During his tenure in Chevron, Rav Yitzchok taught Torah to thousands, impacting numerous talmidim on their path of aliyah.

Rav Yitzchok possessed great tzidkus, which he hid as much as possible. He was constantly helping people, being mechazeik them, and performing chassodim when he was not being marbitz Torah. He initially tried to keep his illness unknown to others, and whenever asked about it, he replied, “Boruch Hashem everything is fine!”

Rav Yitzchok is survived by his parents, his wife; his siblings, including Rav Yisroel Landau, R”M in Yeshivas Ateret Yisroel, and Rav Moshe Landau, R”M in Yeshivas Nezivos Hachochmah in Yerushalayim; as well as many children and grandchildren continuing in his way.

The levaya will begin this evening, at 7 o’clock, from the Yeshivas Chevron Alumni Bais Medrash in Bnei Brak and will then continue at the Chevron Yeshiva in Givat Mordechai.

Yehi zichro boruch.

it brings tears to my eyes to write this-as I see us losing our greatest leaders in klal yisroel-when you know this tragic loss could’ve been avoided if we did teshuva earlier.

What a tragedy-& loss- we caused cause we cant get our act together & do teshuva WHAT ARE WE ALL WAITING FOR?

Perhaps we are not appreciating these Gedolei Hador that Hashem has sent us to lead & guide us in this world. i.e. when someone takes something for granted & doesn’t give the proper thanks, then it gets taken away from us. are we listening to our gedolei Hador & their guidance? when they make takanos-for our good-to help us return to Hashem & become better?

has klal yisroel gotten the message from Hashem-waiting for us to start doing teshuva-have YOU done anything yet? how many more tragedies & Tzaddikim will it take C”V before we wake up & start doing teshuva? OVER 20 GEDOLEI HADOR have passed away within the past year R”L. HOW MANY MORE DO WE NEED TO LOSE C”V to let hashem know that we get the message for klal yisroel to start doing teshuva ASAP?
note:lots of the gedolim this past year were niftar R”L in the 70?s or 80?s this was not enough to wake us up to teshuva

wish we would wake up and see the message from Hashem to start doing teshuva, so we would stop losing our leaders & guidance in klal yisroel.

LAST 6 RECENT GEDOLEI HADOR NIFTAR (over
6 weeks time & at young ages)

HaRav Binyamin Batzri ZT”L-Rosh Yeshivat Beit Yosef & Rabbi of Kiryat Chareidis-December 16 2013-57

the Sokolover-Kotzker Rebbe, Rav Mendel Meir Morgenstern zt”l, -December 23 2013-92

Rav Asher Zelig Rubenstein zt”l,-rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Toras Simcha in Yerushalayim-December 29 2013-71.

Rav Ephraim Greenblatt zt”l, the Revivos Ephraim-renowned senior posek and longtime rov of Memphis, Tennessee.-January 3, 2014-81

Rav Yaakov Galinsky zt”l-the Maggid Meisharim. Of Bnei B’rak-January 22 2014-93
Look at their ages & how we are losing our Gedolim constantly

Let us put a stop to these days of endless tzaros. let us all make resolutions to do teshuva. how else can we expect it to stop if we don’t change our ways & head towards teshuva & returning to Hashem?

May all of Klal yisroel start doing teshuva NOW-before tragedy strikes again C”V-& THEN mashiach will come b’karov

  2. Moderator can I suggest that you don’t put comments such as the above here? Im not here to give musser but to have someone on a blog give a whole musser shmooz that we don’t get the message seems realy out of place. why is he on the internet?? why doesn’t he worry about his own teshuva and get of the blogs??

  3. #2 I disagree with you

I think your missing the main point of #1
you see you’ve got the same problem as %99 percent as the rest of us, myself included-FACING TRUTH & REALITY-which is why theres so much tzaros.

BOTTOM LINE: because of this problem, everyone fools themselves & convinces themselves their perfect & sinless-which we know is not true-& therefore we never change our ways, which keeps us with the continuation of endless tzaros.

Sorry & so sad I need to write this. i.e. people should be able to see this themselves, confess & change our ways towards teshuva.
