The well-known Rav Yoel Kahn, chozer for the Lubavitcher Rebbe and elder Lubavitcher talmid chochom, paid a visit to Maran Rav Chaim Kanievsky yesterday at his home on Rechov Rashbam in Bnei Brak.
During the half-hour visit, Rav Kahn spoke in learning with Rav Chaim, mostly on inyonei Chanukah.
“You came to Eretz Yisroel for Chanukah?” asked Rav Chaim.
“We’re actually returning [to the United States] tonight,” said Rav Kahn, explaining that he had traveled to Eretz Yisroel for Yud Tes Kislev, the yom hageulah, or day of redemption, of the Baal Hatanya, the first rebbe of Lubavitch.
Rav Kahn presented Rav Chaim with the recently released “Likutei Sichos – Mahaduras Bneii Hayeshivos.”
Rav Chaim reportedly smiled and said, “Dos iz azoi vi Chanukah gelt (This is like Chanukah gelt),” referring to the seforim.
Exactly two years ago, Matzav.com reported on a visit Rav Kahn paid to Maran Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman at his Bnei Brak home.

If you are trying to promote Ahavas Isroel, you are not doing a very good job.
What is going on here? You are a partner in this new Lubavitch propaganda offensive to the Litvishe velt?
Why is it so hard for people to be dan lekaf zechut others. Ppl have gotten so used to strife that when something nice happens they get all cynical. Response #1 has the right idea. Haven’t you had enough of fighting? Don’t you know that Mashiach is waiting for us to be united? Parshas Vayeshev should have reminded us how important it is that we respect eachother’s differences in avodas Hashem. Why does it go in one ear and out the other?
What we do to create causeless hatred amongst ourselves. Two great souls meet, its always a good thing.
What’s wrong with Reb Yoel Kahn visiting Rabbi Kanevsky? Why is that an offensive on the Litvishe velt. The greatest gedolim held highly of the Lubavitcher Rebbe and even sent a quitel to him. I have letters of Reb Moshe Feinstein signing his name and his mother’s name in a letter to the Rebbe. I also have a letter from Reb Shlom Zalman Auerbach writing toi the Rebbe on a specific shaalo with 2 lines of moiredike titles and signs his name and his mother’s name. So what’s the big deal of receiving a Lubavtcher in your home?
actually r’ yoil didn’t come during the regular kabolas kohl, but as an invited guest. i
May Rav Yoel Kahn’s visit to this great gadol be a tikkun and bring Moshiach Now.
Regarding the comment #10 (from “Whats wrong?”)
“The greatest gedolim held highly of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.”
Not so simple. Please read the following:

He visited him. That’s it. The line about Chanukah gelt is pure baloney. They have a habit of doing it. I just saw a book claiming that it’s an absolute chov to set up an eiruv in Brooklyn (and of course that it’s permissble).
Reb Yoel Kahn is a tremendous talmid chochom and a chosve yid.
he stands up for what is right and he speaks out against anything wrong in lubavitch.
It actually is that simple. Don’t waste your time searching for drek and motzi shaim ra on the internet.
i don’t understand why people are up in arms, don’t you think that harav hagoen reb chaim kanievsky knows how to run his shittos and decide who is worth it and who isn’t, this is da’as torah mamash. he does not need your chava’as da’as to make decision, remember he is the godol not you.
aha so now frunteens is the new da’astorah.
Regarding the comment earlier about R’ Kahn:
“and he speaks out against anything wrong in lubavitch”
Check out here where he says that the Lubavitcher Rebbe is DEFINITELY going to be the moshiach:
