candle-small3[Photos below.] It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rav Zalman Druck zt”l, rov of the Great Synagogue in Yerushalayim. Rav Druck, who was 75, was the morah d’asra of the famous shul since its establishment in 1982. The shul holds some 1,400 mispallelim.

Rav Druck had been feeling unwell recently and collapsed at his home on Friday morning. Medical personnel arrived at his home and performed CPR for an extended period of time but to no avail.

Rav Druck was recognized by his mispallelim as a great source of inspiration, a pillar of Torah knowledge, and a leader.

The levaya was held on Erev Shabbos at the Dr. Maurice Jaffe z”l Plaza of The Jerusalem Great Synagogue on Rechov King George. Kevurah took place in the Har Tamir chelkah of Har Mamenuchos.

The family of Rav Druck will be sitting shivah at 25 Rechov Harav Berlin.

Yehi zichro boruch.
