The federal government will require automakers to install rear visibility cameras in all vehicles weighing less than 10,000 pounds. After long delays by the Department of Transportation going back to 2007, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ruled Monday that it will require that the equipment must be added by May 2018.
According to data, backover crashes result in 210 fatalities and 15,000 injuries annually, with 31 percent of the victims being children younger than 5 and 26 percent older than 70. Read more at The Detroit News.

What happens when foggy,humid,raining,hotter in car than out? You won’ t be able to see anything. I dont believe the statistics are accurate on how many lives will be saved. Sounds like someone ran over his own child and to compenscate his guilt pushed to have this law go through!
