Reb Aaron, a foremost expert in dikduk who for decades lained at the Agudah on Coney Island Avenue, was knowledgeable in all of Tanach, and literally knew Torah, Neviim and Kesuvim by heart. His had wide ranging knowledge of Torah and a phenomenal memory.

Reb Aaron had a contagious simchas hachaim which uplifted anyone who he came in contact with. He always had a good vort and an insightful thought, and his mere presence provided a lift to those around him.

Anyone who ever observed Reb Aaron’s interactions with his dear and special son Moishe could detect the special neshama that Reb Aaron possessed. 1. When ever he was at a kiddush, he would attempt to publicly say a vart, or dvar torah, as not to have people eating without torah. He was a true gem, a genuinely nice person, with a perpetual smile, who had a love for all yidden. We will all miss him.

    Boruch Dayan H’emes.

  2. So sad. Happened so suddenly. He was such a special person. His vibrant personality came shining though when he was the bal korah.

  3. This is so sad, I new Aaron from our yeshiva days at RJJ and helped him find his house so we were able to live nearby, we shared so may simchas together and so many trying times, as our children were good friend growing up together. This is very painful, for as it is to a lot of people, whom he touched and knew. He will be surely missed by all. Our condolences to Pinina and the family.

  4. He was a great Talmud Chochom and devoted family man. I have fond memories of him while his eldest son was in high school.
May Penina and their children and grandchildren be consoled with the availay tziyon v’Yerushalayim.

  5. Rabbi Gaffney’s, z”l reading on Purim of Megilas Esther made the Megila come alive, and was the best and most enjoyable reading that I ever heard.

  6. #2, he was not a Bal Korah [sic] (you meant Baal Korei). He was the correctly pronounced Baal K’riah (Do you say Baal Mispallel or Baal T’filah?). And he was a Baal K’riah par excellence! Y’hi Zichro Baruch! Baruch Dayan HaEmes.
