Reb Eliezer Menachem Mozes Named As UTJ Chairman

menachem-eliezer-moses-smallThe United Torah Judaism-Yahadus Hatorah party today officially elected Reb Eliezer Menachem Mozes as its chairman. Rabbi Mozes, a 62-year-old Vizhnitzer chossid, will also serve on the Economics, Education and Knesset Committees. MK Moshe Gafni will be an alternate member of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.MK Uri Maklev will serve as Deputy Speaker of the Knesset. He also serves as chairman of the Committee on Public Petitions and will be a member of the Constitution, Law and Justice Committee, the Interior Committee, and the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.

Reb Menachem Eliezer was born into a staunch Agudah home. His father, Harav Shlomo Zalman, zt”l, was the secretary of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah as well as of the Agudas Yisrael Vaad Hapo’el. Rav Shlomo Zalman was the confidant of Gedolei Yisrael, acting as their messenger with complete self-effacement.
