candleIt is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rebbetzin Chasidah Chodosh a”h, wife of Rav Aharon Chodosh, senior longtime mashgiach of Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim. She was 80 years old.

The Rebbetzin passed away on Erev Shabbos.

The Rebbetzin was born in Tel Aviv on Yom Kippur of 5695 to her father, Rav Chaim Zev Finkel, and her mother, Rebbetzin Leah Finkel, who was a stepdaughter of Rav Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld zt”l.

When she reached marriageable age, she married Rav Aharon Chodosh, son of the Chevroner mashgiach, Rav Meir Chodosh zt”l.

She served as a teacher at the Bais Yisroel school in Yerushalayim and throughout the years dedicated herself to chinuch habanos, imparting chizuk and hashkafah to bnos Yisroel.

The Rebbetzin and her husband lived on Rechov Yoel in Yerushalayim but in recent years moved closer to the Mir in the Bais Yisroel neighborhood.

Throughout the decades, she stood at the side of her husband, devoting herself to him wholly as he served generations of talmidim at the Mir.

The Rebbetzin was a sister of Rav Aryeh Finkel, the present rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Mir Brachfeld, and Rebbetzin Nebenzahl, wife of Rav Avigdor Nebenzahl, rov of the Old City of Yerushalayim.

The levaya was held at Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim, followed by kevurah on Har Hamenuchos in Yerushalayim.

Yehi zichrah boruch.

  1. She had another brother, Rav Moshe Finkel ZT”L who traveled extensively to raise funds for The Mir and was Rav of the French Hill section of Yerushalayim.
