candle-small4It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rebbetzin Etta Rivka Zucker a”h (nee Giteles) of Chicago, who passed away today. Rebbetzin Zucker was the wife of Rav Dovid Zucker, longtime rosh kollel of the Chicago Community Kollel, and daughter of Rav Shymon Giteles of Lakewood. Her mother, Mrs. Rochel Giteles, passed away a few weeks ago.

Rebbetzin Zucker was a special individual, who touched many people in a unique fashion and stood by her illustrious husband, allowing him to be marbitz Torah and influence many people. Her passing leaves a gaping void in the Chicago Torah community.

The levaya will take place tomorrow night, Motzoei Shabbos, at 10:15 p.m., at Joan Dachs Bais Yaakov, located at 3200 West Peterson Avenue in Chicago.

A levaya will be held at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey at 11:15 Sunday morning and the aron will then be flown via United Airlines to Eretz Yisroel for kevurah.

Yehi zichrah boruch.

  2. Does anyone know what airline/flight the body will be on? I see that the levaya is at Newark at 11:00 AM, I would think that they would go on EL-AL at 1:30. I was under the impression that this flight was Kohain safe as it never took bodies. Can anyone confirm?
