It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rebbetzin Faiga Shochet a”h, mother of the Karlin-Stoliner and Luzker Rebbes.
The Rebbetzin was niftar at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem Medical Center in Yerushalayim after
being hospitalized on Thursday. She was niftar Shabbos morning at the age of 79.
The levaya was held at the Karlin-Stolin Bais Medrash on Rechov Avinoam Yellin in Yerushalayim.
The Rebbetzin was a daughter of Rav Yochanan of Karlin and was buried in Tiveriah near her father.
Due to the petirah, the forshpiel which had been scheduled to be held last night for the Karlin-Stoliner Rebbe’s son was cancelled. The Rebbe’s son’s wedding will take place this Tuesday. The Rebbe, according to sources, will only attend the chupah.
The Rebbetzin is survived by her sons, the Karlin-Stoliner and Luzker Rebbes, and her daughter, Mrs. Ledereich, wife of Rav Yaakov Baruch Ledereich, rov of the Karlin-Stoliner shul in Boro Park.
