Rebbetzin Netzchiya Yosef a”h

[Photos below.] It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rebbetzin Netzchiya Yosef a”h, wife of Rav Yaakov Yosef zt”l and daughter-in-law of Rav Ovadiah Yosef zt”l. She was 65.

Rebbetzin Yosef had battled a serious illness, which was revealed a few months after the passing of her husband last year. In recent days, she was hospitalized at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem in Yerushalayim, where she passed away. .

She was a daughter of Rav Amram Azoulai zt”l.

At the wedding of the Rebbetzin and her husband, Rav Yaakov, the mesader kiddushin was Rav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv zt”l.

The Rebbetzin served as a devoted eizer to Rav Yaakov, who was the rov of the Givat Moshe neighborhood in Yerushalayim.

Rav Yaakov was the second child of Rav Ovadia and Rebbetzin Margalit Yosef.  Between 1983 and 1984, Rav Yaakov served as a member of the Yerushalayim City Council on behalf of the Shas party.  Rav Yaakov founded and headed Yeshiva Chazon Yaakov, named for his grandfather, Rav Yaakov Ovadia.

The Rebbetzin is survived by her eight children, Margalit, R’ Ovadiah, R’ Yonason, R’ Moshe, Rochel, R’ Amram, R’ Avrohom, and Tzipporah.

The levaya was held at the Boruchov Bais Medrash on Rechov David Hamelech in Yerushalayim.

Kevurah took place on Har Hamenuchos in Yerushalayim beside her husband.
