U.S. Rep. Al Green, a Houston Democrat, said he plans to introduce legislation on Monday that would prevent President Donald Trump from pardoning himself.
The Washington Post reported Friday that Trump’s lawyers are considering the president’s ability to grant pardons in an effort to “limit or undercut special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s Russia investigation.”
Green was the first member of Congress to call for Trump’s impeachment on the House floor. He signed an impeachment resolution in July that accused Trump of obstructing justice by firing former FBI Director James Comey. Read more here.

Since Green is a Democrat, he can be excused for being ignorant, especially about the Constitution. As the Supreme Court has pointed out many times, the Presidential power of pardon is absolute, and not subject to any restraints.
