Rep. John Lewis: Trump Not a ‘Legitimate President’

Donald Trump will not be “legitimate” president because of Russia’s interference in the 2016 election, according to Rep. John Lewis (D-GA).

Speaking with Chuck Todd, in a Meet the Press interview set to air this Sunday, the civil-rights icon asserted that while he would like to forgive and work with the new president, “it’s going to be very difficult,” because “I don’t see this president-elect as a legitimate president.” Pressed on that point, the congressman said, “I think the Russians participated in helping this man get elected. And they helped destroy the candidacy of Hillary Clinton.” Lewis also stated that he will not attend Trump’s inauguration. “It will be the first one that I miss since I’ve been in Congress, you cannot be at home with something that you feel that is wrong.”

  1. And was President Obama’s “participation” in the attempt to delegitamize the candidacy of PM Netanyahu likewise against the free democratic process? A hypocrite and and a sore looser.

  2. This imbecile voted for the Iran deal and voted against the resolution condemning the UN vote. This idiot only got into office because of the color of his skin.

  3. If only a single WHITE congressman had said similar words about the colored president, how would have this Lewis guy have reacted?
Racism isn’t always about the blacks. It is when ANY race, including the African persuasion, attempts to delegitimize another one. This has been going on for quite some time now in this country.

  4. All the hacking did was publicize some of the bad things going on in the Democratic Party and in Hillary life. Things the public deserve to know. This is not tampering with the election this is doing a service to the citizens of this country. I think instead of sanctions they should be rewarded
