Report: Comey Will Not Accuse Trump of Obstructing Justice

Former FBI Director James Comey will stop short of accusing President Trump of obstructing justice during his upcoming public testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee. ABC News reported on Tuesday that Comey told associates he will testify that the president did not interfere with the FBI’s probe into former national security advisor Michael Flynn, after having previously noted in a memo that the president said he hoped the FBI would drop the Flynn investigation.

“He is not going to Congress to make accusations about the president’s intent, instead he’s there to share his concerns,” a source told ABC News. The former FBI director also plans to counter the president’s public assertion that Comey repeatedly assured him that he was not being scrutinized as part of the Russia probe. Read more at ABC NEWS.
