obama-netanyahuIsrael’s Ma’ariv newspaper reports that President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu came to an agreement last month that any possible military strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities undertaken by Israel will come after the U.S. Presidential election in November.

According to the Ma’ariv report, Netanyahu was willing to give sanctions and diplomacy more time to bring the Iranian government in line with international expectations over the country’s nuclear program.

The “zone of immunity”, which refers to the time when Iran’s nuclear facilities become safe from an Israeli attack, is 6 months, according to the newspaper’s report.

Negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program are set to begin April 14th in Istanbul and uranium enrichment levels and other possible military dimensions of Iran’s program are expected to be the main issues of concern.
