North Korea is carrying out tests to load anthrax onto intercontinental ballistic missiles, according to Japan’s Asahi newspaper. Citing an unidentified source tied to South Korean intelligence, the report said Kim Jong Un’s regime is testing to determine whether anthrax will survive the high temperatures involved in a missile launch, Bloomberg reports.

The news comes after the White House warned in its National Security Strategy earlier this week that North Korea is “pursuing chemical and biological weapons which could also be delivered by missile.” South Korean and U.S. intelligence officials have previously sounded the alarm over a suspected North Korean chemical and biological warfare program, with thousands of tons of chemical weapons already believed to be stockpiled. Read more at BLOOMBERG.
