Report on 2014 Gaza War to Be Released Today

A report on the 2014 Gaza conflict will be released today by Israel’s state controller’s office, which is expected to harshly criticize some of the key players, including Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, former defense minister Moshe Yaalon and former IDF chief Benny Gantz, reports Ynet.

Some of the allegations, which were made by Bayit Yehudi head Naftali Bennett, are that Netanyahu did not keep the Security Cabinet informed of the military’s plans or of the threat of Hamas terror tunnels. The three rushed to defend themselves yesterday. “No security cabinet in the history of the state has been updated more,” Netanyahu said. “When entering the security cabinet, one is supposed to leave his cellular phone and his narrow, personal political interests outside.”

  1. As I have commented elsewhere, the disastrous Gaza – Israel War of 2014 was totally avoidable.

Right up until April 2014, if the moves I recommended had been heeded, the conflict would have been avoided.

But alas from May 2014 certain Israeli “strategists” made their decisions and set in chain of series of terrible events.

The lesson from the conflict is that the correct management paradigm in the Holy Land, West Bank/Judea & Samaria and Gaza is required. A real enduring “Canopy of Peace” will grant much more security than 1000 Iron Dome systems.

  2. #1, we care for Jewish blood being spilled and that is why one needs to be calm and level headed and listen to daas Torah before rushing into another conflict with a bunch of restrictions.
