giuliani1Rudy Giuliani is gearing up for another run at the White House, according to a report today. The former New York City mayor, whose 2008 presidential campaign flopped, is said to be confident about his chances and is huddling with his advisers and planning to make visits to key states as he weighs a decision, The New York Post reports.

Giuliani “thinks the Republican race will be populated with far-right candidates like Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee, and there’s opportunity for a moderate candidate with a background in national security,” a source told the paper.

He is planning a February visit to New Hampshire, where he placed fourth in the GOP presidential primary last time around.

Asked about the Post report this morning, Giuliani said “of course I keep in the back of my mind” the possibility of running again and indicated he is considering an early visit to the Granite state.

“I may be going. I go to New Hampshire a lot, but I don’t have anything scheduled right now,” he said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

“I love New Hampshire …It’s a great state and I love being there. And I love being involved in the process.”

But he disputed the paper’s claim that he is meeting with advisors, saying, “Well, so far I haven’t found any political advisors to round up.”

But even his supporters don’t think “America’s Mayor” has much of a chance.

“They think this is crazy,” one source told the Post. “They realize how long the odds are, but they are standing by.”

Giuliani likely sees flirting with a run as a way “stay in the game,” one of the Post’s sources said.

  1. Lol! If he does, who wants to bet that lots of our public will support him even though they claim that they would never support a candidate who is pro-toeiva

  2. Rudy has the skills to fix this country. While you may not agree with everything about him (and lets not kid ourselves that ANY politician is worth so much enthusiasm), he is a politician who went to work, rolled up his sleeves, and improved governments job for the citizen. NO other politician will do anything but talk.

Rudy is not all talk. He has the goods. Long shot or not, he should run and hope people will realize his skill and not look at him with an unjustified knee-jerk reaction.

  3. Forget about President. I would love to have him as Mayor of NYC again! He would need a few terms just to erase any finger prints of “his Arrogance” – Lord Mike!

  4. #7, The Jets should lose. They are up against Peyton Manning and then a Tom Brady. Who would expect them to win against those two greats? The media predicts the Jets will win. If they lose, they had a great season. No? At least we have a NY NJ area team that can play ball. Oh, who are the Giants playing Sunday? I did not see their name on the roster. 🙂

  5. Guiliani has serious credentials. He has proven that he is a skilled politician and is not afraid to take on the tough guys. However, he has also proven that he does not know how to run a national campaign. He does not need to win New Hampshire and Iowa to be the Republican nominee. See Pat Buchanan, who won New Hampshire in 92′ and 96′, but did not receive the republican nomination. But the candidate needs to show up in those states. Guiliani foolishly did not even show up in 2008 and put all his eggs in the Florida basket. Big mistake. Mr. Mayor, I want to vote for someone who can run a campaign, which does not include you.

  6. To Moshiach now? I like Rudy. It’s Bloomberg I hate! I liked Rudy as Mayor. He did a great job, especialy after the mess Dinkins left us in.

  7. I don’t care what his private life issues are, he has always done a HIGHLY admirable job and you don’t find many men like this. we need him
