Two Secret Service agents who were assigned to protect President Trump’s 8-year-old grandson are under investigation for taking photos of the boy while he slept. Mother Jones reports an unnamed source said the investigation was focused at determining whether the two agents abandoned their post, protecting Donald Trump III, for the sake of taking the selfies. They are not being investigated for any crimes.
According to the report, the agents were driving the child from New York’s Westchester County to Manhattan when the boy fell asleep and they began taking the pictures. When young Trump woke up, he was upset and later told his mother, Vanessa Trump. Ultimately, Donald Trump, Jr. reported the issue to Secret Service supervisors, who opened an investigation. “The U.S. Secret Service is aware of a matter involving two of our agents and one of our protectees,” a spokesman said. “The Secret Service would caution individuals to not jump to conclusions that may grossly mischaracterize the matter.” Read more at MOTHER JONES.
