rubashkin-petitionMaybe the White House is good at counting jobs saved and created by the Stimulus (ARRA), but when it comes to count the petitions of Americans, it may be different. That revelation was made by journalist Yossi Gestetner, a Matzav.com contributor.

For example, says Gestetner, the petition in favor of Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin, now the second strongest issues at the “We the People” petition page, collected more than 29,000 signatures at this time, but exactly how many is anyone’s guess. Why? Two people – one from Iowa and the other from California – are both counted as Signature 28,996.

  2. Rick,
Hate to break it to you, but it’s now a three man race. My man Herman Cain has a real shot at it. Will you please admit that you have no chance whatsoever? You’re a nice guy, but it’s time to step aside.

  3. At most we see that 2 people were skipped. Does anyone else see any other numbers that were doubled up? What percentage is 2 of 29000? How much difference would it make? Is this really a major error worthy of an article?

  4. #6: It has nothing to do with Rubashkin. It’s probably just a glitch in the software behind it. Not everything is anti-semitism!

  5. I tried to set up an account to sign, but got no confirmation email, so I couldn’t sign the petition – twice. Has anyone else had this happen?

    Rick,
Hate to break it to you, but it’s now a three man race. My man Herman Cain has a real shot at it. Will you please admit that you have no chance whatsoever? You’re a nice guy, but it’s time to step aside.

You’re completely correct, my friend. It is a three-man race. It’s me and the two warring governors, Perry and Romney. Herman Cain may be a nice guy but he has no governmental experience, and his understanding of the Constitution is flawed (“An mandate to buy something is not constitutional”). If I win in November 2012, I’ll put him in my cabinet.

  7. I like you Rick, but you won’t even come close in the end. You didn’t advertise enough, or spend enough money – not a whole lot of people even know who you are. That’s the problem. Maybe next time. As for the two governors, yeck, I hope someone comes from the back room to take the nomination – those two should never be allowed to run ANYTHING.

As for the petition; very sad that there are a few errors. How does this affect the petition for R’Sholom?

  8. These are not errors. I made an inquiry. It’s quite simple. People are using phony names. IP addresses are used to detect the fraud. Be careful otherwise we may be signing a petition for you soon. Ironically, I must say – Keep it legal! Also please sign on to the many petitions to legalize marijuana. Chronic pain sufferers such as myself will greatly benefit. Please show compassion to those that suffer through no fault of their own. Food and medicine are basic neccesities.

  9. Why aren’t they even considering releasing R’Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin? Soooooo many people signed – more than the amount they said they would consider… Let’s continue davening for Sholom Mordechai Ha’levi ben Rivkah and may all our Tefillos be anwered.

  10. and 28,180 and 28,037 and 28,000 and 27,881 and 27,571 and 27,415 and 27,328 and 27,133 and 26,991… are all doubles, in short I caluclate at least another 150 signatures are not counted

  11. if this is not an error & they say people are using phony names – their proof is by tracing the ip address… I read all the fine print in the petition (& saw right away that they would “up the #’s needed” based on the small print) it says very clearly that any citizen over the age of 13 with a valid email address can vote. Not every 13 yr old with an email address has their own computer! So – from my computer – my niece, 2 nephews, a brother & myself – we all voted – using each of our names with seperate email addresses. According to the rules that is 100% legal. Now, which excuse will they use to change the numbers – skip a few – double up…?????
