At a town hall meeting in Mount Vernon, Ohio, Mitt Romney’s first question from an audience member was about whether or not the “mainstream media” had given him a “fair shake” in the race.
Romney responded praising by praising freedom of the press, saying the media can slant in whatever way it sees fit.
“The media in our nation is free, people are able to say what they want to say,” he said. “They don’t have a responsibility to slant things my way or the other way. They have the right to slant things any way they wish.”
Still, he said the mainstream media was “by and large” supportive of Obamacare.
He added that there are “hundreds” of TV channels and news sources, and that people can decide which ones they want to read or consume.
“You can choose those sources you find most reliable,” he said.
