ron-paulRon Paul is set to officially launch his presidential campaign Friday morning. The Texas congressman will make his announcement from New Hampshire during the 7:00 a.m. hour of ABC’s “Good Morning America.” Paul is then scheduled to speak at 10:00 a.m. in Exeter, part of a two-day swing through New Hampshire following a stop in Iowa. Paul will also be keynoting the Grafton County Republican Memorial dinner on Friday night.

Paul has already taken several incremental steps toward a full-fledged campaign, most recently opening an Iowa campaign office north of Des Moines earlier this week. He also recently raked in more than $1 million during a one-day online “money bomb” ahead of the first GOP presidential debate, demonstrating the continued strength of the grassroots fundraising machine that turned heads during his 2008 campaign.

  1. RJC Expresses Concern about
    Ron Paul Candidacy

Washington, D.C. (May 12, 2011) — With press reports indicating that Congressman Ron Paul (TX) will announce his bid for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination tomorrow, the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) releases the following statement expressing deep concern about his candidacy.

RJC Executive Director Matthew Brooks stated:

“As Americans who are committed to a strong and vigorous foreign policy, we are deeply concerned about the prospective presidential campaign of Congressman Ron Paul. While Rep. Paul plans to run as a Republican, his views and past record place him far outside of the Republican mainstream. His candidacy, as we’ve seen in his past presidential campaigns, will appeal to a very narrow constituency in the U.S. electorate. Throughout his public service, Paul has espoused a dangerous isolationist vision for the U.S. and our role in the world. He has been a virulent and harsh critic of Israel during his tenure in Congress*. Most recently Paul gave an interview in which he voiced his objection to the recent killing of Osama Bin Laden.”

Brooks added, “We certainly respect Congressman Paul’s right to run, but we strongly reject his misguided and extreme views, which are not representative of the Republican Party.”

  2. I am a very conservative person who believes that Ron Paul would be the finest head of the federal reserve or treasury dept. But he is too inconsistent on politics, believes in amnesty for illegals, says he wouldn’t have assassinated Bin Laden etc. In other words, he is a liberal who happens to dislike printing money and welfare.

  3. What Ron Paul’s philosophy is, is NOT to cut off financial or military aid specifically to Israel. He does not want the US giving foreign aid to ANY country! At the same time he feels that as a libertarian, he should not dictate to others, be they individuals or countries what they should or shouldn’t do.

    He is not a anti-semite!

  4. Yid,

He isn’t openly Anti Semitic, but he says many disturbing things and holds disturbing positions on issues (see comment two). I do agree though that he is on the forefront of exposing the fed, which is a great service he does for us all. But president? I say Demint. Allen West, Bachman etc. would be infinitely better and it would be wise to give Paul a post at the treasury that he can dismantle the federal reserve.
