rav-shmuel-rabinovichThe rov of the Kosel, Rav Shmuel Rabinovich, was attacked yesterday upon exiting the home of the posek hador, Rav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, in Meah Shearim. Police are investigating the incident, in which rocks were thrown at Rav Rabinovich, who serves as the rabbi of the Kosel as well as other mekomos hakedoshim. Rav Rabinovich was not harmed, but his car sustained some damage.

Some have sought to place blame on Rav Rabinovich for incidents where tznius and other standards of kedushah have been compromised at the Kosel and in Meron at the kever of Rav Shimon Bar Yochai.

A local askan strongly criticized the attack. “The incident is reprehensible and disgusting. There is no justification for it, no matter what,” he said. “These fringe individuals unfortunately give other ehrliche people a bad name.”

in fact that is not true

tzinius levels are much more stringent by the day .. maybe some individuals would prefer even higher standards and rather than engage in a process of civil dialogue the thugs indulge in rock throwing

shame on them for lacking common decency and saichel

shame on us for allowing this to occur

rosh chodesh elul no less !!

  2. How clever the Yetzer Hara is!

“It’s forbidden to so much as lift one’s hand to strike another.”

But…it’s OK to throw rocks at the police, because they’re “Nazis.”

Then…it’s OK to throw rocks at the Mayor as he comes from visiting a Rav, because he’s responsible for the parking lot being open.

Now…it’s OK to throw rocks at a respected Rav because of whatever.

Or is it just that the kids have gotten a taste for throwing rocks and when there are no hilonim around, they’ll throw at anyone that’s handy?

  3. They were throwing rocks at him for allowing Jews to vist the Kotel on Sahbbos which Rav Eliyasiv’s supporters have forbidden

  4. where are all the gedolim crying out when these thing happen? silence is deafening! will it take a tragedy for them to speak out?

  5. #7 – yes it will. When a non-Hareidi is Ch”v killed or seriously injured by another Hareidi, then you’ll see some action.

  6. Ruler of the huge Empire with 20,000 nuclear warheads, land/sea based ICBM, KISSED this man(Rav Rabinowitz) hands and asked to bless him with Birkas Kohanim
