trav-zvi-kaplanEmergency crews worked for hours on the scene where a tanker crashed in Middlesex County earlier tonight. The tanker, which was carrying 7,000 gallons of fuel, crashed and overturned on Route 440 in Woodbridge around 6:30 p.m.

State police closed the highway in both directions while hazmat crews worked overnight to clean up any fuel that leaked into the roadway. The roadway reopened late in the evening.

Police said that 2,000 gallons were lost in the grass.

The driver of the tanker was airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick where his condition is unknown.

Among those stuck in the dreadful traffic was Rav Tzvi Kaplan, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Kodshim in Yerushalayim, who was en route to Lakewood to deliver a shiur to his alumni talmidim there. Rav Kaplan didn’t arrive in Lakewood until about midnight due to the backup.

  1. You are obviously unaware of who Rav Tzvi Kaplan is. When something even seemingly insignificant happens to a Talmid Chacham of that stature it is a noteworthy occurrence. Not that we know why Hashem did it or that we should even probe into it, but we shouldn’t make light of an occurence happening to a Talmid Chacham. I don’t necessarily think that Matzav needed to report it, but once we do know about it, let us read it with a little bit of reverence for such a Talmid Chacham. Be well.

A very, very slow news day, huh, Matzav?
This is just absolutely ridiculous to report. Absurd.
