rubashkin1Attorneys for Reb Sholom Mordechai ben Rivkah Rubashkin have appealed his conviction and sentence on financial fraud charges. Attorneys for  Reb Sholom Mordechai filed their appeal today with the U.S. 8th Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis.

Reb Sholom Mordechai was sentenced last month to to an absurd 27 years in prison and ordered to pay $27 million in restitution.

His attorney, Guy Cook, says evidence not related to the charges was allowed at trial and that the sentence is unjust and amounts to a life sentence for the 51-year-old.

  1. One may not contact a judge directly. If you see a judge in a candy store, they aren’t even supposed to say hello. Any contact with a judge must be done through lawyers.

  2. Could someone please explain to me how, if Reb Sholom Mordechai is supposed to be in jail for the next 27 years(chas v’sholom) how exactly is he supposed to repay $27 million in restitution, when he doesn’t have a nickel to his name? Will they let him out so that he can rob a bank? I don’t get it. Is this sentence for real? Is this judge for real? Hasin’ah mekalkeles es hashura.

  3. What do we stand to lose at this point by emailing her? Will she increase his punishment??
I would not do so, because cruel people enjoy to see the pain they inflicted, so let’s ignore her, and we will get our revenge when Sholom Mordechai is acquited on appeal, with Hashem’s help.

  4. Leave the ‘judge’ alone, it will do more harm than good.

She will face the true Judge eventually & He knows best how to deal with her… just have some patience.

  5. keep doing ahavas yisroel, be the best you can be and be better, grow in achdus. this is what we can do for him and for all of us.

  6. If the reason bail was denied becasue of a fear that he might mover to Israel, then is it possible to get a letter from Israel stating that if Mr. Robashkin will try to enter Israel, he will be denied entry?
