Tonight is known in many circles as “Rumpelnacht,” as the post-Pesach cleanup gets underway. With pots, pans and dishes all over the place and kitchenware being moved from here to there, the name “Rumpelnacht” has been found appropriate by some to describe the hectic atmosphere.

So as you “turn back over” from Pesach to chometz, we at Matzav.com wish you bracha and hatzlacha and all the best to your families and loved ones.

We also wish you the customary Motzoei Pesach blessing of “ah gutten zummer” and pray for only the best for all members of Klal Yisroel across the globe.

Next year in Yerushalayim, be’ezras Hashem.

  1. I don’t know what planet you live on, bit it is not summer yet.

There is something called spring that comes before summer.

    • Well it’s obvious that spring is not coming this year, despite what the ground hog told us. It’s still ridiculously cold. It will be like Montreal. Only summer and winter. That’s it.

    • “Ah gezunten zummer” is the blessing after Pesach even though global warming will begin a few weeks from now.

      • Huh?

Where does it say that? Which siman in Shulchan Aruch? Why are people making up new ‘halachos’?

The Shulchan Aruch has a siman about a brocho on blooming trees in Nissan, not one about a blessing for summer.

After Shavuos you can talk about summer.

          • Yes, like many times, this was started by an alte Bubeh. She meant well. This is what they said by her funeral, “she always wished her family & friends ah gutten zummer”. Wow, tremendous. What a tzadeikes. Let’s all be mikabel to say it to the next generation.
