Russian Navy Enters English Channel

According to the Russian media, a squadron of Russian warships entered the English Channel on Friday and conducted exercises. The RIA claims that the Northern Fleet, including an anti-submarine ship, passed through the Strait of Dover to wait in Seine Bay for a storm to pass.

“While it is anchored the crew are undertaking a series of exercises on how to tackle… infiltrating submarine forces and are training on survival techniques in the case of flooding or fire,” said the Northern Fleet in a statement to the agency.

France’s navy confirmed the ships are in the Channel, but said the ships are not conducting exercises. Read more.
