paul-ryanRep. Paul Ryan said Sunday the IRS targeting of conservative groups “is arrogance of power, abuse of power, to the nth degree” and vowed the investigation into the misconduct will continue.

“Look, people have no trust that their government is being impartial,” the Wisconsin Republican said on “Fox News Sunday.” “This is arrogance of power, abuse of power, to the nth degree, and we’re going to get to the bottom of this.”

Ryan said there is “credible evidence that donors were targeted, that the IRS leaked private information to the public, which served political purposes.”

“So there’s so much more that we have just uncovered that we do not know the root causes of. And so to suggest that this is some bureaucratic snafu, that’s been disproven, Chris,” Ryan told Fox host Chris Wallace. “The other point I’d say, as bad as this is, the person in charge of this bureaucratic snafu has now been put in charge of Obamacare.”

Putting Sarah Hall Ingram, who formerly oversaw the tax exempt division before heading to her current post helping the agency implement Obamacare, in charge of implementing the health care law is “rotten to the core,” Ryan said.

“This is arrogance,” he said. “This is big government cronyism. And this is not what hard-working taxpayers deserve. People deserve a government they can trust, that’s honest, that’s impartial, equality before the law, and that is not what we’re getting here. And so to try to suggest that this is just bureaucratic snafus, we already know that’s not true.”

Wallace also asked Ryan about how he views the Benghazi talking points in light of the fact during that time he was Mitt Romney’s running mate and whether he thought the White House purposely misled the American people in order to defeat the GOP ticket.

“I don’t know the answer to that question, so I’m not even going to speculate, but that’s what good oversight does,” Ryan said, noting that he won’t make a conclusion before the investigation is completed.

What the American people do know right now, he added, is that the White House was “misleading.”

Ryan also blasted Obama’s second term, saying “now we’re seeing big government in practice. Now we’re seeing the arrogance, the cronyism in practice in this second term. And that is even uglier than big government in theory.”

  1. Ryan is a big shot without a big smile. He wants more for the dereliction of his own indiscretion. I give him a can of tuna fish and tell him to live a better life.
