Just hours after it was elected to one of the 10 non-permanent seats on the United Nations Security Council, Saudi Arabia said it has better things to do with its time. Thanking the other nations that had “given their confidence,” Saudi Arabia complained in a statement that the Council isn’t able to solve any problems – it failed to stop the killing in Syria, to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, or to keep weapons of mass destruction out of the Middle East.
