Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia’s eldest son called conspiracy theories about his 79-year-old father’s death a “hurtful distraction.”

In an interview, Eugene Scalia said, “It’s, I think, a distraction from a great man and his legacy at a time when there’s so much to be said about that and to help people even more fully appreciate that. And, on a personal level, I think it’s a bit of a hurtful distraction for a family that’s mourning.” He added, “Our family just has no doubt he died of natural causes. And we accept that. We’re praying for him. We ask others to accept that and pray for him.”

Presidential contender Donald Trump was among many who publicly discussed the circumstances surrounding Scalia’s death, including reports that he was found with a pillow over his head. The owner of the Texas ranch where the justice died has since clarified that the pillow was against a headboard.

Scalia’s family has said they did not want an autopsy performed on him and that he had a history of chronic health problems. Read more at ABC News.
