Sen. Chuck Schumer released a statement mourning the death of Sen. John McCain on Saturday, saying he plans to introduce a resolution to rename a Senate office building after the war hero.

“As you go through life, you meet few truly great people. John McCain was one of them,” Schumer wrote. “His dedication to his country and the military were unsurpassed, and maybe most of all, he was a truth teller – never afraid to speak truth to power in an era where that has become all too rare. The Senate, the United States, and the world are lesser places without John McCain.”

“Nothing will overcome the loss of Senator McCain, but so that generations remember him I will be introducing a resolution to rename the Russell building after him,” he added.

  1. Ookkaayy…. And how much will it cost US the taxpayers??? We all know the outrageous costs when the government gets involved in sentimental projects.

  2. one second, who was Russel? maybe don’t take someone else’s name away to put McCain’s name on it. Go find something new to name after him. Like maybe give funding for a new Ford-class aircraft carrier, you angry liberal.
