The United States Supreme Court may hear a challenge by guns rights advocates pertaining to an assault weapons ban in two states. The Connecticut and New York legislations ban semiautomatic weapons like the one used by shooter Omar Mateen in Orlando.
The Supreme Court will decide potentially as soon as Monday whether it will hear a challenge to these laws asserting that they violate the Second Amendment. The Supreme Court has not decided on a major gun case since 2010. Read more at Reuters.
