no-easy-day-bin-ladenA firsthand account of the Navy SEAL raid that killed Osama bin Laden contradicts previous accounts by administration officials, raising questions as to whether the terror mastermind presented a clear threat when SEALs first fired upon him.

Bin Laden apparently was hit in the head when he looked out of his bedroom door into the top-floor hallway of his compound as SEALs rushed up a narrow stairwell in his direction, according to former Navy SEAL Matt Bissonnette, writing under the pseudonym Mark Owen in “No Easy Day.” The book is to be published next week by Penguin Group (USA)’s Dutton imprint.

  1. Whether he is right or wrong in saying that Osama was dead by the time the SEALs got to him pales in the fact that he shouldn’t be telling us this stuff. There is a reason why it was classified and even Obama shouldn’t have told us as much as he did. Many SEALs may be killed (or already were) because the leaking of sensitive information. Shame on Bissonnette and shame on Obama.
I read other reports that there may be legal action taken on Bissonnette. Military members, especially special forces, take an oath of silence on classified matters that applies even after they leave the military.
