NEW YORK, Sept. 21, 2018  — As a leader in the Kosher grocery industry, Seasons Kosher Supermarkets has voluntarily filed a petition for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code. In order to preserve and strengthen our ability to serve the local Seasons Family’s needs, we are focusing on emerging from the Chapter 11 filing with a stronger balance sheet and to fully restore operations.

Through a commitment of up to $6 million in private funding we will be able to fully stock the shelves, fulfill current vendor obligations and continue to operate normally during the restructuring period.

There is nothing we love more than providing Seasons’ family with the warmest kosher shopping experience, and we look forward to refocusing on that singular goal,” said Mayer Gold, CEO Seasons.

With several parties already interested in investing in the Company, Seasons anticipates a relatively short reorganization process and bright future as we continue to serve our neighborhoods.

About Seasons: Seasons was born out of a passion to create a kosher shopping experience that goes beyond convenience and selection– a place where people actually want to shop and where people want to work.  A place that embraces every customer, employee, and vendor as part of the family. A place where the small things count, and everyone is warmly welcomed. And although we’ve grown from our very first store opened in 2011 to become the nation’s largest kosher supermarket chain, we will never lose site of our mission to become a vital part of every Jewish community and put the priorities of our extended Seasons family first. Shop with Seasons and shop with family.
