I knew all along that when a kid soils a diaper it changes colors, comon sence aint it? I mean I hope it would.
What is the difference in halacha between the color change brought about by the chemical reaction with the diaper and the color change brought about by the natural soiling?
Maybe colored candy should not be eaten on Shabbos, because it colors one’s tongue.
Coloring from food is no problem because of the rule of ain tzvia bochlim. (there is no dyeing by food).
The coloring of toilet water with products such as Selson Blue are to be avoided on shabbos because you color the water.
This is the pesak I have heard for years.
In response to the questions posed by 1 and 2, you must say there is a distinction between coloring derech lichluch and for other purposes.
The color of the diaper is an indicator and is therefore not derech lichluch.
My question was, even so, the child is doing it derech misasaik, so why should it be an issue.
Star K, I am guessing, wants you not to be maachil issur byodayim to the child.
I wasn’t going to say anything then, but in retrospect, knowing that there was faulty logic regarding this Psak and having heard this from various other Poskim, instead of trying to be the first to post this info, perhaps Matzav should research before posting, like thinking before talking to maintain a positive image.
Anyone know the “metzius” if the color of these diapers stays? if it doesnt then even if the change in color would be considered “nicha lei” it would be muttar just like photo-chromatic lenses?
