obama6President Obama has responded to today’s terrorist attack in Yerushalayim in which four Yidden were killed by condemning the attack – and stating that “the majority of Palestinians” want peace.

In a statement delivered to the White House press pool, President Obama responded to the attack by declaring that “too many Palestinians have died,” as well as Israelis, in the struggle between the state of Israel and the terrorist group Hamas and its affiliates, including the internationally active Muslim Brotherhood. “At this difficult time,” the president told reporters, “I think it’s important for both Palestinians and Israelis to try to work together to lower tensions and reject violence.”

“We have to remind ourselves that the majority of Palestinians and Israelis overwhelmingly want peace,” the statement concludes, before the President begins remarks on the Ebola crisis in West Africa. The President did not take questions.

The President’s remarks follow Secretary of State John Kerry’s response to the terrorist attack, in which he called “on Palestinian leadership at every single level to condemn this in the most powerful terms.” Palestinian Authority head Mahmoud Abbas, on his end, nominally condemned the attack while “stressing the need to end the causes of such attacks like tensions over what Jews call the Temple Mount and Palestinians call al-Aqsa Mosque.” Such a dismissal of the increasingly out-of-control terrorist activity by Palestinian extremists received the typical benefit of the doubt from mainstream media.

  1. After condemning the terrorist attack, Obama continued to say “This is not the first loss of life in recent months. Too many Israelis have died. Too many Palestinians have died…” He speaks just like Mahmoud Abbas, who while condemning the attack, added that “we also condemn the aggression toward Al-Aqsa Mosque and other holy places and torching of mosques and churches.” In Abbas eyes, Jews walking on Har HaBayis are equivalent to Arabs murdering Jews in shul. Similarly, in Obama’s eyes, Jews being murdered in cold blood are no different than Arabs who were killed because of Hamas’ cynical use of them as human hostages during the Gaza war. Furthermore, why even talk about Arab Palestinians as victims? Why not just condemn what just happened like every other world leader. Obama’s anti-Israel attitude shines through at every opportunity.

  2. to much spin. he said many people on both sides have died. ” to many Israelis have died and to many Palestinians have died” is this not true????

  3. “I think it’s important for both Palestinians and Israelis to try to work together to lower tensions and reject violence.”

What a piece of garbage this Kenyan has turned out to be. He’s more concerned about his son Trayvon looting stores in Ferguson and getting away with it, than the safety of American Jews in a foreign Country.

  4. This man can stand up and take his place next to Paroh, Haman, Sancheriv, Titus, Nevuzradan, Torquemada…
His statement is good. Read it. Yidden need to know the Emmes.
    Eis tzarah hee l’Yakov.

  5. why does your behavior mimic those of antisemites whose behavior we would expect would contain the hiding of complete information from the frum readership.

Here are the two full statements said today by the president: the first is a statement issued and the second was actually said later on by Obama in a news conference on Ebola:

official Obama statement: “I strongly condemn today’s terrorist attack on worshipers at a synagogue in Jerusalem, which killed four innocent people, including U.S. citizens Aryeh Kupinsky, Cary William Levine, and Mosheh Twersky, and injured several more. There is and can be no justification for such attacks against innocent civilians. The thoughts and prayers of the American people are with the victims and families of all those who were killed and injured in this horrific attack and in other recent violence. At this sensitive moment in Jerusalem, it is all the more important for Israeli and Palestinian leaders and ordinary citizens to work cooperatively together to lower tensions, reject violence, and seek a path forward towards peace.”

in press conference on Ebola Obama in person actually said: “Well, I’ve got my team here to talk about Ebola. But before I do, I want to just make mention of the horrific attacks that took place in Jerusalem.
We know that two attackers senselessly and brutally attacked innocent worshippers in a synagogue during their morning prayers. Obviously, we condemn in the strongest terms these attacks. A number of people were wounded, and four people were killed, including three American citizens. So this is a tragedy for both nations, Israel as well as the United States. And our hearts go out to the families who obviously are undergoing enormous grief right now.
Secretary Kerry has spoken to Prime Minister Netanyahu. President Abbas has strongly condemned the attacks. Tragically, this is not the first loss of life that we have seen in recent months. Too many Israelis have died. Too many Palestinians have died. And at this difficult time, I think it’s important for both Palestinians and Israelis to try to work together to lower tensions and to reject violence.
The murderers for today’s outrageous acts represent the kind of extremism that threatens to bring all of the Middle East into the kind of spiral from which it’s very difficult to emerge. And we know how this violence can get worse over time. But we have to remind ourselves that the majority of Palestinians and Israelis overwhelmingly want peace and to be able to raise their families knowing they’re safe and secure. The United States wants to work with all parties involved to make that a reality, and to isolate the kind of extremists that are bringing about this terrible carnage.”

  6. what if someone went into a mosque at their prayer time and while their all kneeling they just mowed them down with a machine gun? what sould all the geniuses say then?

  7. bizzyizzy:
whose side are you on? You mean they have died cuz they kill each other, they have died because they are used as human shields by their own brothers, they have died cuz they martyr themselves on Jewish blood.. Yes, they have died…but through their own hands…How dare you compare innocent kedoshim and speak as if they are equal….who are you anyway?

  8. It is a tradition that Lev Melochim are in the hand of Hashem.

The comparison of taking of lives is one of the gravest distortions of truth which an individual can perform.

The cold blooded murder which I found out about at 2:00 am on the internet
is an act reminiscent of the Crusaders, the pogroms, the Nazis and the founders of Islam.

    May Hashem Grant us Nechwamaw!!!

  9. Sure, too many of them have died. But they have brought it upon themselves in most cases.

Obama is at best an idiot who is not embarrassed
to show the entire world his stupidity. That, again, is the nicest way of describing his statements. Most people who try to behave morally would consider him immoral for even being able to believe such obscene blatant nonsense. I wish I had a larger vocabulary to accurately describe the evil of this man.

Let alone stating such as a president of the United States.

    Kloloh nimretzes.

  10. Thanks #21 and #12.
According to this, Obama’s statement was a bit more moderate than I thought, and I did exaggerate, [#18] if this is what he did actually say. It’s a little better than just stating that Palestinians were killed, and not mentioning the murders of innocents. However, he is equating their deaths, which are in self defense, to murder of tzadikim (righteous people) by evil beings.

  11. Read comment #12, as noted above. You may not like the president, but why do you lie about what his full reaction was? You’re surprised when CNN and others misquote and misconstrue when you’re guilty of the same?
