Shin Bet operative Amir Maymoni was killed Tuesday during an operation near the Gaza Strip.
The death of Amir was first thought to be the result of terrorist fire, but the Shin Bet said today that the incident was not terror-related.
Officials say that the cause of death is likely either an accidental discharge or friendly fire.
Amir was 29. He lived in Zohar in southern Israel.
