Shwekey: The Rumors Are Made By Those Who Like Controversy
[Audio below.] For the first time since the spreading of rumors regarding the relationship with his younger brother. Yaakov Shwekey spoke with Israeli radio music host Menachem Toker about these rumors which claim that there is a rift between him and his brother, Yosef Chaim Shwekey, who recently released his first album.
Yaakov categorically denied the rumors and said that there are those who love to create these types of controversies.
“My brother told me that he is going to Eretz Yisroel and this is a great zechus for him.”
As for the new album released by his brother, Yaakov said, “I have heard the disc and I must say: It’s something amazing, I love his style.”
As for things written on the internet, and rumors that he does not speak to his brother, he said that they are false. “I hear about these things and it does not please me. Really not. …It means nothing. There are people who live on it.”
At the end of the interview, Yaakov gave the phone to his son to sing.

do people care so much about what goes on in the family relationships?
I actually am close friends of Yosef Chaim’s family and he’s a nice guy. I never heard of any rift between him and his brother, but that’s actually not my point.
They are both good singers, but what goes on away from their singing- who cares! People love to talk for no reason

I think people want to see a whole East Coast/West Coast thing going on….In secular music, people enjoy rooting for one side and against others.

OMGoodness, this sounds like the type of “reid” you’d read on teeny bopper magazine covers (as far as I’ve gone, B”H).
