Six Sifrei Torah Stolen in Antwerp

The Antwerp community was shocked to discover last Shabbos morning, Shabbos Parshas Behaaloscha, that six sifrei Torah were stolen from the Machzikei HaDas shul. Another sefer was torn and thrown down in a disgraceful manner.

The police investigation determined that the terrible crime took place between 1 and 6 in the morning. Apparently a number of criminals were involved. It is expected that the thieves will try to sell the seforim, and the only market is the religious community, which should be wary of any sifrei Torah whose origin cannot be determined.
