Sketch of Rav Wosner’s Attacker Released

suspect-2The New York State police have released a sketch of the suspect being sought in the attack at 10:00 p.m. on Sunday on Rav Mordechai Zev Wosner at the entrance to Camp Kavunas Halev (see Matzav’s full original report here).  Rav Wosner was attacked in the camp parking lot, located at 249 Ferndale Loomis Rd. in Liberty, N. Y., by an unknown male. He was talking on a cell phone when he was reportedly hit in the head with a bat. Rav Wosner sustained injuries to his head and face and was rushed to the hospital. He did not lose consciousness and a CT scan showed no brain damage. and he returned the camp at approximately 3 a.m., according to information received by Matzav.com. “Rav Wosner visited the bunkhouses to calm his talmidim who were concerned about his welfare,” a family member told Matzav.com. 

suspectThe assailant being sought is described as a short white male, with either blond or red hair, wearing either a white shirt or a white shirt with bold horizontal stripes and possibly shorts.

New York State Police are continuing the investigation into the assault, the motivation for which is undetermined at this time. The adjacent composite sketch of the suspect was created with information supplied by the victim of the crime.

  1. There is a Ukrainian camp right next door to Camp Chaye Sura in Glen Spey. There are other Russian bungalow colonies in the Catskills. This guy has Slavic looks. Wouldn’t those places be the best places to look first?
