rabbi-chaim-druckman77-year-old Rabbi Chaim Druckman has been relieved of his duties beginning next month as Head of the Geirus Authority in Israel. The state says that the firing is “because of his age,” but some are speculating that the move is a direct result of comments from Rabbi Druckman one day ago that soldiers must refuse orders to demolish Jewish homes.

The Civil Commission, however, contends that the decision was made well prior to Rabbi Druckman’s comments and that the two are not related at all.

At age 77, contends the Commission, renewing Rabbi Druckman’s contract makes little sense. They added that Rabbi Druckman carries a lot on his plate, being one of the heads of the Hesder system and other holding other positions of authority.

Some have questioned the age issue, as President Shimon Peres is 86 years old.

Rabbi Druckman has said regarding his statement about refusing orders that soldiers must first ask to be exempted from destroying Jewish homes, quietly, and if there is no alternative, then they must refuse the order.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak has not rescinded his ruling that removed Rabbi Eliezer Melamed’s Har Bracha Yeshiva from the Hesder arrangement following Rabbi Melamed’s own remarks regarding refusing orders.

  1. “an old” (comment #2): Teimini is 100% correct.

This rabbi has for many years been engaged in mass conversions of Russian goyim who have zero intent of observing Shabbos and Taryag mitzvos.

He does it in the name of “Israeli national interests.”

    A complete shanda.

  2. A Beis Din in Eretz Yisroel has declared that many if not most of Rabbi Druckman’s purported conversion were invalid, as the supposed converts didn’t keep a single halacha from the first day they were supposedly converted!

And this was the case with so many of this rabbi’s so-called converts.

    Truly terrible.

  3. No one is dismissing him because he is mizrachi. Gedolei Yisroel shlita dismissed him because of his non-halachic conversions of goyim who do not, will not, and never planned to keep the mitzvos.
