st-louis-missouriDays ahead of a grand jury’s decision whether or not to indict a police officer over Michael Brown’s death, the governor of Missouri declared a state of emergency.

Citing “periods of unrest over the past three months” and the criminal investigation into Brown’s death, Jay Nixon’s announcement means he can call the National Guard in to secure Ferguson and the St. Louis area. (Monday, activists disrupted traffic in nearby Clayton.)

The state of emergency expires in 30 days unless its extended or canceled. Read it at The Governor’s Office.

  1. As a St. Louisan, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our liberal friends for their support of the looters and rioters. Perhaps one day I will obtain your level of enlightenment, such that I will also be able to sympathize and support thugs and bullies, as well as be able to diminish the heroic efforts of our men and women in blue. Middos must necessarily be well measured and your colleges and universities filled with your liberal intelligentsia have destroyed your ability to think rationally. A forum for free ideas can’t be found in the overwhelming majority of institutions of higher education. You think you are so developed and enlightened, but the opposite is true.
